Course Description:
This links-style course is located on an island that is only two miles wide and eight miles long, plus it doesn't have many trees that can alter your shots. The Long Island Sound comes into play on nine holes, and seven fresh-water ponds come into play on the rest of the holes.

The Fishers Island Club's golf course is a true testament to Seth Raynor's views on integrating the environment into his golf architecture. Completed in 1927, after Raynor's death, the 18 hole true seaside links golf course seems to come directly from the ocean that it calls its neighbor. Each of its holes has a view of the water from both tee and green. The fairways are a combination of Colonial Bent and Fescue grasses. The greens are seeded with both Seaside and Astoria Bent grasses. While the rough are a blend of Blue Stem and Tall Fescue. Our members believe that the only way to play Fishers is with the wind blowing and the salty sea air in your face. It is a joy to see, play and work on.
Fishers Island's signature hole is the gorgeous fourth, named the "Punchbowl", with its blind approach to the massive 12,000 sq. ft. green. The green seem to drop off into the ocean on 70% of its diameter. The Green committees and superintendents over the last 75 years have been dedicated to keeping Seth Raynor's plan alive and well. All bunkers are true to their original design, having been roughed and tacked. The Club is in the process of bringing green complexes back to their original size. Ranked 18th in the US by Golf Magazine, the Club is committed to keeping the course what is and has always been, a "True Gem."
