Course Description:
This beautifully wooded, gently rolling tract has the best greens in the Tri-State area per MSU Turf grass School experts. With family run, and friendly customer service, the Pro Shop is a restored 1860's farm mansion which was a civil war underground railroad stopover, as well as Al Capone's Michigan half way house.

For 8 years, we have been the leading provider of reservations for Golf courses around the world. We offer a Golf hotel directory with a complete list sorted by distance from the course. Each listing offers information such as a general property description, amenities and services, number of rooms, prices, special deals and contact information. The Golf Hotel room search allows you to check for hotels that have availability for your selected dates. You can narrow your search by choosing desired amenities and services. All of our hotels have been inspected and approved by AAA and the Mobil Travel Guide, the authorities in hotel and restaurant inspection.

This award-winning club offers two regulation eighteen hole courses, the North Course and the championship South Course. The North Course mirrors a Scottish links-style design, and the greens are loaded with subtle breaks. The tree-lined fairways were built on gently rolling terrain. Water hazards come into play on four holes. The 1924, 1937, 1961, 1985 and 1996 U.S. Opens were held on the South Course. Robert Trent Jones redesigned the South Course before the 1952 U.S. Open and again in 1972 and 1984. He also redesigned the North Course in 1969. Arthur Hills did a redesign on the South Course in 1987. The 2004 Ryder Cup Matches were held at Oakland Hills. Water hazards (two ponds and one creek) come into play on three holes. The course was built on rolling terrain and only features a few trees bordering the fairways. The signature hole on the South Course is #16, a 406-yard, par 4, requiring two well-executed shots up a dogleg right fairway to reach its very small green. The last five holes are known as the "Fearsome Fivesome." The clubhouse is a mirror image of George Washington's Mt. Vernon home.
