Course Profile
TPC at Four Seasons - Las Colinas

The Tournament Players Course is one of just 30 TPC facilities in the country made popular in the 1980s by former PGA TOUR Commissioner Deane Beman. The TPCs are among the finest golf facilities found anywhere in the world. The current configuration of the TPC Four Seasons Resort and Club Las Colinas was created in 1985-86 by renowned golf course architect Jay Morrish in consultation with Byron Nelson and Ben Crenshaw. The course was completed in just under 12 months, a Herculean task and just in time to host the 1986 Byron Nelson Golf Classic.
The par-70 TPC is 7,022 yards from the championship tees and offers bermuda grass fairways and bentgrass greens. The course is overseeded during the winter months to ensure near-tournament conditions on a year-round basis.
"The players term it very fair," said Crenshaw. "...the wind is such a factor here that we tried to adjust for it by opening up the entrances to the greens."
The TPC made headlines in 1993 when more than $1.5 million in improvements were made. The most notable feature is the dramatic lake near the 17th green. The TPC is typically described as a finesse course more than a power course, calling for the ability to make a wide variety of shots. The tough stretch is between the eighth and 15th holes where five rugged holes challenge the golfer. One seasoned golfer aptly describes the TPC as "sneaky tough."
